Flame of Hope Golf Tournament, Diabetes Canada
This even sold out and raised over $50,000, enabling over us to help fund specific research grants for type 1 and type 2 diabetes research.
Join us for a fun day of golf, hole activities and dinner to help raise desperately needed funds and support the local community!
As the event coordinator for this event, I was responsible for the planning of the Golf Tournament. This included working with the golf committee, marketing and promotions, sponsorship, donations, event set up and take down, volunteer management and much more.
Autism Speaks Canada Walk- Ottawa, Autism Speaks Canada
The Autism Speaks Canada Walk brings together the autism community to celebrate and support one another and fuel Autism Speaks Canada mission. .
As the event coordinator for this event, I was responsible for the planning of the Autism Speaks Canada Walk in Ottawa. This included reaching out to the local media, marketing and promotions, sponsorship, donations, event set up and take down, volunteer management and much more.
Trick or Treat for CHEO, Monkey Around Play & Learn Centre
Monkey Around celebrated halloween by raising funds for the CHEO Foundation with special guests from The League Of Super Heroes, the Capital City Garrison - 501st Legion and the Rebel Legion Canadian Base. All admission sales during the event were donated to CHEO.
As the event coordinator for this event, I was responsible for the planning of Trick or Treat for CHEO. This included reaching out to the local media, marketing and promotions, working with the CHEO events team, event set up and take down, staff management and much more.
Country In Motion, Eventageous Management
Eventageous Management is a team of twelve graduate students currently enrolled in Humber's post-graduate Event Management program.
Country In Motion was a country-themed evening of fun & entertainment dedicated to raising awareness & funds for the Connected in Motion charity & The Humber Scholarship Fund!
As a member of the Eventageous Management team I was primarily responsible for HR and Sponsorship. I was responsible for writing contracts, editing documents, writing sponsorship letters and making cold calls.
I'rish You Were Here,
Second Star Events
I'rish You Were Here was a St, Patrick's Day scavenger hunt at the Smiling Buddha. Clues were scattered around the venue and were revealed through participation in various activities throughout the night!
The event included 4 live bands, a dj, and St. Patrick's day themed games such as human snakes and ladders and bingo.
My main responsibilities for this event were hiring the talent, social media promotion, poster design and creating the activities.
Moonlight & Mistletoe
Moonlight & Mistletoe was a holiday party put on by myself and a collegue, Brittany Rodrigues at Loft 404. The event consisted of a live dj, holiday themed drinks, a photobooth and dancing.
As the event coordinator for this event I was responsible for all details included in event preparation such as: booking a venue, guest invites, event promotion, hiring, set up, execution and tear down.
Sector 75 Launch Party,
PYCAP & Agile Offices
Sector 75 is an incubator for Entrepreneurs. The launch party was an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to network as well as listen to speaker Stuart Browne, CEO and Founder of Pycap Venture Partners.
As the event coordinator for this event, I was responsible for planning the launch of Sector 75. This included, finding food and beverage sponsors, media sponsors, finding a photographer and videographer, event set up and take down, bartending and much more.
Kids' World of Energy Festival, TREC Education
Since 2008, the Kids’ World of Energy Festival has directly engaged over 21, 000 students and parents in the connection between energy and the environment, while working towards creating an energy conscious world.
My role in this festival was volunteer coordinator. I was responsible for recruiting and training volunteers prior to the event as well as being the go-to person at the registration booth throughout the event.
Kids' World of Energy Festival, TREC Education
Since 2008, the Kids’ World of Energy Festival has directly engaged over 21, 000 students and parents in the connection between energy and the environment while working towards creating an energy conscious world.
This was my 2nd year working the festival as the Events Assistant. My main responsibility was recruiting and training approximately 300 volunteers prior to the event. In addition I was the go-to person at the registration booth throughout the event.
School's Out Party, TREC Education
School's Out was a night of networking, with a performance by a stand-up comedian as we raised a glass (and funds) for TREC Education – a registered charity that educates and inspires (not sure this makes sense with the rest of the sentence) people across Ontario about renewable energy and energy conservation.
My role in this event was mainly social media marketing, in-kind sponsorship, ticket sales, event check in and event payments. I was responsible for Facebook and Twitter posts, obtaining in-kind sponsors for our silent auction, increasing ticket sales prior to the event, and being the go-to person at the registration table throughout the event.
